What should I bring to an in person training or skills verification session?
We like the way you think! We recommend bringing:
A writing utensil and notebook OR a tablet or laptop for notes
A water bottle and snacks
A face mask may be required depending on current standards and venue practices, we recommend bringing one just in case
And any course-specific items or clothing

Absolutely! You can view our group pricing and learn more about services available to groups by checking out our For Organizations page.
Do you offer any discounts for individuals?
The short answer: Yes! The long answer: Outdoor Training Services offers tiered pricing, thus enabling folks to choose the price that best fits their budget. You can learn more about our pricing here.
Why are there different prices for the same courses?
Great question! It’s important to look at the format in which the course is being hosted in as well as what pricing tier it’s set at. Our online courses offer the most affordable pricing since our instructors do not incur travel fees to facilitate these sessions. In person sessions are more expensive as they require more time and travel than online or hybrid courses do. Hybrid courses land in the middle of the other two as the in person session is shorter, since participants complete some coursework online.
We wrote a blog post on the pros and cons of each style so you and your business or organization can select the course that best meets your budget and training needs. Click here to read.
What’s the difference between “Adult & Child” and “Adult & Pediatric” certifications?
The American Red Cross designates that a child is a person who is between the age of 1 to the onset of puberty, as evidenced by breast development in girls and underarm hair development in boys (usually around the age of 12). So participants that receive an Adult and Child certification would cover persons aged 1+.
Meanwhile, the American Red Cross has determined that an Infant is someone who is under 1 year old. They use the term “Pediatric” to include Infants and Children in the certification. Therefore, successful completion of an “Adult and Pediatric” course would result in a certification that includes people from birth and beyond.
